A 22-year-old Utah resident, Tyler Robinson, has been identified and taken into custody in connection with an incident that occurred during Kirk’s appearance at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Robinson was taken into custody late on September 11 in southern Utah.

Governor Cox noted that Robinson was seen wearing clothing consistent with images captured on surveillance footage.
