Actor Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, claims that his beloved dog “saved” him from mental health issues.

Audiences are most familiar with British actor Henry Cavill from his roles as the iconic Superman in recent blockbusters like Justice League and Man of Steel. He has also made appearances in Enola Holmes and Mission: Impossible—Fallout.

However, even “superheroes” require some assistance from time to time. Cavill recently talked about his dog Kal, who has been his closest buddy and source of support.

The actor’s 8-year-old American Akita is well-known to those who follow him on social media, since Cavill is not afraid to post pictures of his animal companion online.

He named Kal a “perfect treasure” and characterised him as “half dog, part bear, part pig, and all soul” in a post from the previous year.

Cavill added, “I have had him since he was ten weeks old, and we have been through thick and thin together.” “We really hang out so much that I can’t even tell who’s copying who anymore!”

Cavill recently appeared on the British morning chat show Lorraine, and he brought his cute dog with him.

As Cavill spoke with broadcaster Lorraine Kelly, fans were thrilled to see his dog by his side. The actor also revealed how much the animal means to him.

Cavill told the Daily Mail, “He really is my best friend; we travel everywhere together.”

He clarified that Kal has been a huge assistance to him in maintaining his mental health, saying, “He has saved my emotional and psychological bacon numerous times.” We are quite close to one another,” Cavill said.

“He’s almost always close, but he’ll be closer when he detects that I have my own stuff on.”

It should come as no surprise that Cavill prefers to have his best friend with him at all times, even when he’s on set, given their strong friendship.

On the set of The Witcher, the fantasy series that Cavill presently stars in on Netflix, he apparently brought Kal along.

Cavill told People, “He was there the entire time, he spent most of his time in the trailer rather than on set.” “Because he tends to start making a lot of noise when he can see me but can’t get to me.” We specifically did not want him to enter a scene mid-way or during a sword fight, as he would be taking down opponents.
