Prayers for Carol Burnett

In recognition of Carol Burnett’s 90th birthday, which occurred on April 26, 2024, NBC aired a special two-hour program titled “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love.”

Over the course of the time leading up to the event, Burnett participated in a number of interviews, one of which being an emotional one with *PEOPLE* in which she reflected on her late daughter, Carrie Hamilton.

In 2002, at the age of 38, Carrie, who was both an actress and a singer, went tragically due to cancer. Every day, Burnett carries her memories with her, and she makes a note of the advice that Carrie gave her: “Every day I wake up and decide.”

The play Hollywood Arms, which was based on Burnett’s memoirs, was a product of the two of them working together. Despite the fact that Carrie had passed away before it was finished, Burnett completed it in her honor.
